The item consists of two pieces: a lid molded in the form of a nesting hen and a matching base. The translucent glass is finished in a teal to midnight blue in color. The lid displays detailed molded feathers, a prominent comb, and an upright tail. The oval base features a beaded or pearl-style rim and a stippled, textured exterior surface.
